Waiting

This Plover has been sitting (I can only assume on an egg or two) for at least a couple of days when we drive by now so i stopped in on my way home from work as its rare to see them doing anything other than standing. I'm hoping that in a few days there will be a wee one to report.

Armed & Dangerous

No baby pics today but did manage to get a good photo of the spurs today although without zooming they are still hard to see. These birds are armed and dangerous. As you can see from the other photo she was shouting at me too, letting me know i was not welcome :o)

Mr & Mrs and 2 chicks

Here are my new find, both very protective so couldn't get too close today. I saw they have two chicks although I could only get a photograph of one of the two. They are surrounded by fence on three sides so they only have one side of their territory to protect so i hope this gives them a fighting chance. i'll go back next week and see how all are getting along.

a second pair

while out for a jog thiseveing (thats a mugs game!) I have spotted another pair of plovers and they have chick so expect to see some photos soon. Dive bomb style attacks permitting as i don't want to stress them out too much.

Cotton II?

Sadly the Plover and baby have disappeared, it was early in the season. After 2 weeks with no sightings at all a new pair have moved onto my local piece of real estate and seem to be getting familiar with the ground. I'm hoping that there may well be a Cotton II to report on soon, watch this space...

Cotton Week One

I noticed this little chap just a week or so ago, tucked underneath mum so I've decided to watch him/her grow up and share this with those interested. These are the first photos with 'Cotton' at probably about a week old
